1 – South Beach in South Haven, MI

I love South Beach in South Haven, Michigan because it allows for plenty of gorgeous backdrops for your photo session, including dunes, grassy areas, and even the big red lighthouse. It’s right along the coast of Lake Michigan and offers crystal clear waters and the softest sand! South Haven is such a cute beach town. The beach is a great place for romantic shots, playful shots in the water, and even more formal shots by the lighthouse. No matter what kind of look you’re going for, you can achieve it here! 2 – Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears, MI

Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears, Michigan just might be one of my all-time favorite locations, but it can be a bit of a drive. I recommend sunrise sessions at Silver Lake Sand Dunes just because it is less crowded and it is so peaceful! If we have enough time, Little Sable Light House is also a great add-on to this location. The dunes stretch over 2,000 acres, and if you’re picturing soft sand beneath your feet, rolling hill views, and a warm sunrise glow, then the dunes are right up your alley! 3 – University of Michigan Law Quad in Ann Arbor, MI

Don’t want a beach? The University of Michigan Law Quad in Ann Arbor, Michigan is the perfect spot for you! They have stunning architecture all throughout the campus making for the perfect backdrop for your engagement session. Depending on the time of the year, this location may be filled with other people. Not only does The Law Quad offer such a picturesque setting, but it’s also rich in history and was originally founded in 1859! Why not have your engagement session at such a historic place?

4 – Laketown Beach in Holland, MI | Michigan Engagement Photo Locations

Laketown Beach in Holland, Michigan is the perfect beach spot. It is a short hike down a sand dune to get to the water, and there are stairs to hike back up the dune. This beach tends to be more private, but there is a really small parking lot. If you’re looking for beautiful views of Lake Michigan and a beach vibe for your session, Laketown Beach is perfect for you!

5- Warren Dunes in Sawyer, MI | Michigan Engagement Photo Locations

Warren Dunes located in Sawyer, Michigan is one of the few beaches that has a dog beach. If you want to bring your pup along for your engagement session, this is the perfect location for you. With three miles of shoreline, six miles of hiking trails, and beautiful views of Lake Michigan, this is a perfect spot for an engagement session!

6 – Oval Beach in Saugatuck, MI

Oval Beach located in Saugatuck, Michigan is one of my favorite beaches to have sessions at. It is so perfect and has plenty of backdrops to choose from, from stunning Lake Michigan, to beach grass and sand dunes, and even a bit of trees! There is a fee of $10 to park here, but this allows it to be a little quieter than most beaches. 7 – Rosy Mound Natural Area in Holland, MI

If you’re up for a hike, Rosy Mound Natural Area in Holland, Michigan is perfect for you! It is about 3/4 of a mile hike out to Lake Michigan, but this allows for photos in the woods. 8 – Provin Trails in Grand Rapids, MI

Provin Trails in Grand Rapids, Michigan is perfect for you if you are wanting a wooded backdrop. Their trees are just so beautifully aligned and it’s the perfect nature backdrop. This area is gorgeous in the fall! If you’re wanting something that isn’t the beach, then this is a perfect choice! And it still has some nice soft sandy parts if you want a little bit of sand, too!

9 – At Your Wedding Venue! | Michigan Engagement Photo Locations

If your venue allows, let’s go take your engagement photos at your venue! That is what Nathalie and Pearson chose to do. It is so special because then we can recreate some of those same photos on your wedding day!
