We started our session together by grabbing a drink and getting to know each other. Megan and Brian are getting married in October 2023, and it was so good to finally meet them in person and chat all about their wedding plans! They wanted to do something unique and different for their engagement session, which is why Megan and Brian decided to rent a retro boat from Old Boat House Retro Boat Rentals! We had so much fun cruising at 5 MPH (haha!) down the harbor to Lake Michigan. At one point, we anchored and got some sunset beach engagement photos with the boat in the background. This added such a fun element to their engagement photos. Megan and Brian will definitely have so many precious memories when they look back on them!

After our hour and a half boat rental, we went to Oval Beach to finish up their engagement session. We spent the rest of the night, up until sunset, laughing, getting all sandy, and going into Lake Michigan! These two are truly some of the best people, and I am so honored that they chose me to document not only their engagement session, but their wedding day later this year! I have to say that I love how these two incorporated the boat rental into their engagement session. They really thought outside of the box and wanted to do something fun for their session. As Michiganders, we’re surrounded by the beautiful Great Lakes, so why not take advantage of them?
