Maria and Dustin’s elegant wedding day at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center was so much fun! Since they decided to have me capture their Detroit rooftop engagement session, when I showed up on their wedding day, it felt like we were more friends than clients. I absolutely love that feeling! We were laughing nonstop and seriously, they are some of the sweetest people ever. Their love story is perfection and it goes to show why they are an amazing fit for each other and why their wedding day was so beautiful. The Cute “How We Met” Story That Led To Their Elegant Wedding Day!

“We officially met at our pastor’s house. He was having all of the college kids over for a summer hang-out night in his yard. I saw a new kid that I have never seen before who was really well dressed, with a button-up dress shirt tucked into nice jeans and perfect shoes, whereas I was in shorts and a t-shirt!

I went up and asked him to join me in volleyball (I am very competitive) and he said no, he’s in too nice of clothes and that when I responded “that’s what a laundry machine is for, take off your shoes!”, he still denied. After my game, I went and talked with him for the rest of the night which is when we really connected.

After that night he started coming to my church and we would talk every Sunday, which eventually led to getting coffee at a local shop after service. I was caught really off guard when the first thing he said when we sat down at the coffee shop is “You’re beautiful Maria”. At that moment, I knew I wanted him to be mine. A few months later we started officially dating and now we frequently go to that same coffee shop and sit at the same table we had our very first date.” – Maria
