Timeless and Romantic Felt Mansion Wedding | Monica and Ricky

Hey heyyy! It’s Lindsay, your go-to wedding photographer! I can’t wait to share this story of Monica and Ricky’s romantic and timeless Felt Mansion wedding in Holland, Michigan. From the moment that I met this amazing couple, I knew their wedding day would be something truly special!

Monica and Ricky’s love story began at Calvin University in the fall of 2017. Picture this – a random encounter at the dorm printer, a shared class, and a month of playful flirting later. Ricky finally gathered the courage to ask Monica out while watching a movie in his dorm room. There were countless Calvin walks, movie nights, and cross-country road trips, and eventually, Monica and Ricky became inseparable.

Fast forward five years – their journey includes trips exploring different states, beach days, and the beginning of new careers in nursing and accounting. In February of 2022, while on vacation in Tampa, FL, Ricky proposed to Monica.

Monica and Ricky tied the knot on a gorgeous summer day in Michigan. The sun was shining, casting a warm glow on everything, creating the perfect atmosphere for a romantic and intimate celebration. Monica and Ricky were surrounded by the warmth of their closest family and friends, creating an atmosphere that was both intimate and full of emotions.

Monica and Ricky exchanged vows in front of the classic white chapel at the Felt Mansion, with picturesque moments captured all over the property – from an intimate first look at the idyllic water garden to getting ready in the mansion’s elegant rooms as well as the Carriage house to portraits in the mansion’s library, every detail was carefully curated. With 170 guests in attendance, the venue perfectly accommodated their vision and embraced the mansion’s timeless charm and elegance.

The day was filled with heartwarming moments, including private vows and a gift exchange during Monica and Ricky’s first look, creating a moment of intimacy and connection. Monica, being the youngest with older twin sisters, also shared a touching first look with her dad.

Dessert was a treat for all as Monica and Ricky surprised their guests with a shaved ice truck. Custom shaved ice desserts added a refreshing and personalized touch to the celebration, especially on a warm, Michigan summer night. To top it off, an old classic car made for stylish couples portraits and served as a memorable send-off.

What also stood out was Monica and Ricky’s commitment to spending quality time together throughout the day. They intentionally soaked in every moment, cherishing every bit of joy and love from their day. This is one thing that I recommend to all my couples – your wedding day will go by fast, so be intentional with spending time with your new husband or wife!

Monica and Ricky discovered my work through a recommendation. When they looked through my portfolio, they knew I’d be the perfect addition to their special day. I’m all about capturing the unique essence of each couple, and I’m so grateful to have been part of Monica and Ricky’s love story. It was such an honor to serve you on your wedding day!
