Leah and Reid’s wedding at North Lake Weddings and Events located in Berrien Springs, Michigan, was beyond perfect! It was such a beautiful fall day here in Michigan. The venue sits on a private lake surrounded by woods, an apple orchard, and stunning hillsides! The views were beautiful, and everything was perfect, from the ceremony to the reception. Leah and Reid were so happy and you could truly tell their love for one another! It was such an honor to be part of their special day!

Leah + Reid’s October Wedding at North Lake Weddings and Events in Berrien Springs Michigan

Leah and Reid first met in college during her junior year and his freshman year. They stayed friends until the vibe suddenly felt different for them, and their love story began! Leah and Reid both love to be out in nature hiking or biking and also love adventuring in National Parks! They even had their tables named after places they’ve traveled to together and included the travel theme in their cake topper with it being modeled after a National Park sign! While they both adore traveling, they also love having a cozy night in with a home-cooked meal, wine, and a movie!

Leah and Reid put so much thought into all the details for their day, and it was seriously so perfect! They both love chacos, so they made custom chacos that were special for their wedding day! They also opted to do a first look. This allowed us to get all of their photos done before the ceremony. This was important to them because they had guests from all over the world attending their wedding! They wanted to mingle with them during cocktail hour and not miss out on any of their party! Leah’s brother was also their officiant, which was so special to them. It was such a special moment for them to share together and he did such an incredible job!

“When we reached out to Lindsay, you could tell right away (even over email) that she was very bubbly, nice, and genuine—which is totally our vibe, and we loved her portfolio! We were looking for someone who was going to help make us feel comfortable on our wedding day. Once we hired Lindsay, her communication was excellent. She always made sure to ask if we needed help with anything. Our venue had a lot of natural woodwork and a really nice outdoor space so we wanted the vibe to have a lot of natural elements. We ended up taking a lot of pictures outside, which was awesome. We’re also very detail-oriented people so we had a lot of little elements that were really important for us to include.

When we finally met Lindsay in person, it was like we’d known her forever. We got along really well and she did a great job suggesting photos for us to take but that said, it all felt really natural, nothing was forced. She was also really great about asking us if there were any photos we wanted to take and making sure our needs were met throughout the day. Because she’d taken the time to understand what was important to us, she got all these awesome, little detailed shots of elements of our wedding day that were really perfect. This didn’t surprise us, but we were really happy with the quality of our photos. They felt so natural and true to us and a perfect reflection of our wedding day.”
